SSC CGL Mensuration question with solution

MensurationModerateSSC CGL 2024

The circumference of a circle is 220 cm. What is its area? (Take π = 22/7)

  1. (A)1925 cm²
  2. (B)3960 cm²
  3. (C)3850 cm²
  4. (D)7700 cm²

Correct answer: (C) 3850 cm²

Circumference = 2πr = 220, so r = 220 × 7 ÷ (2 × 22) = 35 cm. Area = πr² = 22/7 × 35 × 35 = 3850 cm².

Shortcut: With π = 22/7, a circumference of 44k gives radius 7k and area 154k².
