A shopkeeper buys an article for ₹2,900 and sells it for ₹3,335. What is the profit percentage?
- (A)20%
- (B)25%
- (C)15%
- (D)13%
Correct answer: (C) 15%
Profit = selling price − cost price = 3335 − 2900 = 435. Profit percentage is always calculated on the cost price: 435 ÷ 2900 × 100 = 15%.
Shortcut: Profit % = (SP − CP)/CP × 100.
