SSC CGL Profit and Loss question with solution
Profit and LossEasy
The marked price of a watch is ₹1,200. If a discount of 25% is allowed, what is its selling price?
- (A)₹900
- (B)₹840
- (C)₹1,175
- (D)₹1,500
Correct answer: (A) ₹900
Discount = 25% of 1200 = 300. Selling price = marked price − discount = 1200 − 300 = 900. So the watch is sold for ₹900.
Shortcut: SP = MP × (100 − d)/100 = 1200 × 75/100.
