SSC CGL Profit and Loss question with solution
Profit and LossEasy
The marked price of a watch is ₹1,400. If a discount of 20% is allowed, what is its selling price?
- (A)₹1,050
- (B)₹1,190
- (C)₹1,120
- (D)₹1,680
Correct answer: (C) ₹1,120
Discount = 20% of 1400 = 280. Selling price = marked price − discount = 1400 − 280 = 1120. So the watch is sold for ₹1,120.
Shortcut: SP = MP × (100 − d)/100 = 1400 × 80/100.
