Profit and LossEasySSC CHSL 2024
A shopkeeper buys an article for ₹2,500 and sells it for ₹2,750. What is the profit percentage?
- (A)15%
- (B)20%
- (C)10%
- (D)5%
Correct answer: (C) 10%
Profit = selling price − cost price = 2750 − 2500 = 250. Profit percentage is always calculated on the cost price: 250 ÷ 2500 × 100 = 10%.
Shortcut: Profit % = (SP − CP)/CP × 100.
