Profit and LossEasySSC CHSL 2024
A shopkeeper buys an article for ₹2,800 and sells it for ₹3,220. What is the profit percentage?
- (A)13%
- (B)25%
- (C)20%
- (D)15%
Correct answer: (D) 15%
Profit = selling price − cost price = 3220 − 2800 = 420. Profit percentage is always calculated on the cost price: 420 ÷ 2800 × 100 = 15%.
Shortcut: Profit % = (SP − CP)/CP × 100.
