A shopkeeper buys an article for ₹1,000 and sells it for ₹1,150. What is the profit percentage?
- (A)25%
- (B)15%
- (C)13%
- (D)20%
Correct answer: (B) 15%
Profit = selling price − cost price = 1150 − 1000 = 150. Profit percentage is always calculated on the cost price: 150 ÷ 1000 × 100 = 15%.
Shortcut: Profit % = (SP − CP)/CP × 100.
