Rahul's one-day work = 1/6 and Suresh's one-day work = 1/12. Together they do 1/6 + 1/12 = 18/72 = 1/4 of the work per day, so the work is finished in 4 days.
Shortcut: Days together = (a × b)/(a + b) = 72/18 = 4.
